HOTEL ENSEMBLE

Hotel Ensemble is a master’s thesis project focused on transforming a former GDR telecommunications office in Berlin into a boutique hotel. The concept explores “amalgamation” merging contemporary interior language with nuanced, period aesthetics of the GDR era.
Three distinct room typologies were developed, each offering a unique spatial narrative while sharing a cohesive design vocabulary. The project’s core strategy centers on adaptive reuse, incorporating salvaged elements and original site materials to create a nostalgic yet modern atmosphere. It aims to reintroduce historic memory into contemporary hospitality design at the heart of Berlin.
